The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is gearing up for a big project. They are planning a Utility Services Corridor (USC) alongside the new Metro Bus routes in Faisalabad.
This corridor will bundle important services like internet, water, gas, and electricity in one place. The aim is to avoid the hassle of digging up roads again after the Metro Bus project is complete.
The utilities involved include WASA, SNGPL, PTCL, and FESCO. By organizing these services together, the city can stay connected without constantly tearing up the ground.
Recently, ADB consultants met with FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry to discuss the project. They focused on how to tackle technical and logistical challenges to make sure everything runs smoothly.
FDA Chief Engineer Mehr Ayub and other key officials were present, while senior ADB consultant Mike Johnston joined virtually. The discussions covered every little detail to ensure the success of the project.
The Director General emphasized how important this project is for Faisalabad. It shows the government’s dedication to providing reliable urban services while maintaining high standards.
ADB officials agreed, highlighting how the USC would keep everything in line with international standards. This means a more efficient city and a better life for residents.
In the coming weeks, the ADB will hold a local conference with stakeholders. The goal is to make sure all the public service departments are on the same page and working together.
This project promises to improve the city’s infrastructure, making sure that everything from water to electricity flows smoothly without disruptions. It is a big step forward for Faisalabad.
