Google has introduced its ‘Help me Write’ feature on Gmail for desktops, helping users draft and edit emails more easily. Previously only on mobile, this AI-powered tool is now available to Gmail users on the web.

This feature is accessible to Google One AI Premium subscribers or users of Google Workspace with the Gemini add-on, which are subscription-based services. Beyond drafting, ‘Help me Write’ allows you to customize your emails by adjusting tone, expanding content, or condensing it to a shorter form.

With this update, a new ‘polish’ shortcut appears for drafts over 12 words, offering a one-click way to refine your message for clarity and professionalism. You can access it by clicking the icon or using Ctrl + H.

Big Changes for Mobile, Too!

Google has also upgraded the mobile version, simplifying the editing process by consolidating options like ‘polish’ into a single swipe, streamlining message refinement. You can still fine-tune the text afterward using other Google AI editing tools.

Starting today, Google is rolling out this feature gradually to web-based Gmail users. Check for the update soon and explore how ‘Help me Write’ can make your email writing quicker and more efficient!
