Lahore, Pakistan – In a historic moment, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced hybrid double-decker buses for the first time in Pakistan! These new buses will promote tourism across Lahore, making it easier and more fun to explore the city’s famous spots.
Five of these hybrid double-decker buses will run on new routes around Lahore, and additional buses will also start in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi. Plans are underway to expand this service to Multan and Faisalabad soon.
During the launch event, Maryam Nawaz took a ride on one of the new buses and was given a tour by officials, who shared that the double-decker service began back in 2015 under former Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. These buses have been popular with tourists, helping people like students, diplomats, and even celebrities explore beautiful attractions.
In Lahore, three new routes will connect places like Qaddafi Stadium to other popular sightseeing spots. The Chief Minister said that these modern buses are eco-friendly and will make traveling around the city enjoyable for everyone.
