Punjab Board of Revenue’s Senior Member, Nabeel Javed, announced that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Kisan Card initiative is making it easier for farmers to access seeds, fertilizers, and sprays. He highlighted the benefits of the initiative during a meeting held at the Punjab Board of Revenue.
Interest-Free Loans for Farmers with Kisan Card
Through the Kisan Card, farmers can now avail interest-free loans to improve their crop yields.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Punjab government to strengthen the agriculture sector.
So far, 760,000 farmers from across the province have applied for the Kisan Card, with data verification completed for 395,226 farmers.
Comprehensive Policy for Farmers
A comprehensive policy has been developed by the Punjab Land Record Authority, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Bank of Punjab, and the Agriculture Department.
This policy aims to ensure that a maximum number of farmers in Punjab benefit from the Kisan Card initiative.
Strengthening Agriculture
The Punjab government is actively working on various projects to enhance the agriculture sector, supporting farmers in their efforts to increase productivity and improve their livelihoods.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousuf, and the Director General of the Punjab Land Record Authority.
